I just noticed on my overhead read-out that it always sez "-40", both on F and C...

...that is unlikely, so anyone know the problem? Or more important what I worry about is that the engine management computer is seeing that same number?

The climate control readout is fine.

I have been VERY disapointed with my mileage, which is less than 10 around town and 13-14 freeway.
Also the turbo-lag is very annoying.

I was hoping maybe the sensor was sending bad info to the computer

Thanks.

There are two temp sensors for air temp.

Engine air temp sensor is in or near the airbox.

The overhead readout sensor is in front of the radiator behind the grille.

Its possible all you need to do is change out the sensor, or make sure the connector isnt corroded.
