i just installed one last night and we tought we had it rigger so it would stay on while i was driving playing a dvd. this morning when i went to work i oulled out of the drive way and the movie was still playing then it shut off. another guy at work said he has a switch to override that. he has a panasonic but the same truck as mine (2005). thanks for the help

I thought they required a trigger wire, connected to the parking brake
circuit....depending on the make it requires a ground or 12v positive signal...
dont get it WRONG ;) READ THE BOOK !

you are right. it did say to connect it to the parking brake switch. but, correct me if i am wrong, the parking brake switch on our trucks grounds it self out when the brake is applied, we could not find a possitive lead going to it

you are right. it did say to connect it to the parking brake switch. but, correct me if i am wrong, the parking brake switch on our trucks grounds it self out when the brake is applied, we could not find a possitive lead going to it

that i couldnt tell you...but a quick poke w/ a multi-meter (or test light)
would tell you.

from the d3 install manual....

Light green (wire)
Used to detect the ON/OFF status of the parking brake. This lead
must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake
switch. If this connection is made incorrectly or omitted, certain
functions of your navigation system will be unusable.


LIGHT GREEN LEAD AT POWER
CONNECTOR IS DESIGNED TO DETECT
PARKED STATUS AND MUST BE
CONNECTED TO THE POWER SUPPLY SIDE
OF THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH.
IMPROPER CONNECTION OR USE OF THIS
LEAD MAY VIOLATE APPLICABLE LAW
AND MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DAMAGE.

zigzag, there is a way of doing it. I would have to pull my radio out and look at the wiring. There is a guy on Ebay that sells the wire kit that is already set up for what you are wanting to do
