was quite a tedious job..pulled the old remote display apart, removed
the original mute button & power (rj14/phone style) connection...then
cut the pcb, the display and the mounting...

then rewired a momentary mute button (for remote mounting at the door)
and the power connections...tricky part is all this is SURFACE mount
soldering...and then i ever so slowly and carefully dremil'd the dash

the remote display was TOO big to fit ANYWHERE in the dash (and
still be visible from the drivers seat)...so the display had to be "modified"
a little ;)

i would have prefered to have the display above the ESOF
selector...BUT the air vent has some mounting hardware
and bracing above the switch.

AND w/ the display mounted ABOVE the esof switch you could
see it (the radar display) from outside the drivers door/window.

i considered relocating the ESOF switch below the dash (not
like it gets used alot)...i would have bought another dash "cover" (w/out
the esof cut out) and then mounted the remote display in stock
esof position.

but i get an idea in my head and i cant STOP...ive been pulling
apart displays for a week now, trying to figure out what i could
remove and rewire....my wife thinks im NUTZ...but i always say,
at least she knows where to find me ;)
