Glow plugs

when you say wont start, is that after like 30-45 seconds turning her over or longer
runs fine if plugged in first, no other hickuppps or burps :dunno

GP relay is still my first stab. easy to check and replace.

agreed, I had to put a switch in mine, I forgot to turn them on the other day when it was about 40ish. it wouldn't start, had to turn them on and counted to ten, then she fired right off.

Glow Plug Relay or better known as the GPR would be my first guess also. Test it and you will probably find it bad. If it would start but started hard and smoky then it would more likely be some bad Glow Plugs but you can have 4 out of 8 plugs bad and it will still start. It would be a good idea to check the plugs and see if any are bad but I doubt they are causing a no-start situation.
