Potential problems of an 04 F250 with a 6.0?

A good friend of mine is looking at getting a 2004 F250 4x4 cc sb with a 6.0 auto. The truck was built in 6/04 and has about 76,000 miles on it. I'm not sure what the dealer is wanting for it. Is there anything we should look for or be aware of on this truck? What are your guys thoughts and opinions on this?

Any truck built after Dec 03 is supposed to be the "good" one. But I have never had a problem with mine and it was built earlier. Get an Oasis report from Ford and that will show all of the work done by Ford.

i think my build date is in my sig...im 50k miles, problem free...

ask for the FULL oasis report itll give you great insight into
how many times the truck was serviced (by a dealer) in warrenty
or otherwise.

mine was built 10-03 and have 44,500 miles and i have had good luck with mine. not many mods yet but am looking into a tuner. my truck religously gets around 16.5-17.0 mpg around town. hope this helps

Thanks guys. I called him and told him to get an Oasis report on it. They gave him the info and the only thing it went to the Ford shop for was front end shimmy and shake. Ended up being the front tires. Hasn't had any problems with the engine or drivetrain that Ford ever accounted. They are asking $27,900 for it. Does that sound out of line?
