Hello, New to the forum, got question before purchasing my new company trucks. Haven't heard anything good about the 6.0 or 6.4 diesels reliability.I thank the 5.4 isn't enough power for the F150 I have for any towing, think even worse for the F250. Is my best choice the V10 for a used truck now?I am planning one buying a 2011 6.7 as soon as available.

Welcome to SDD.com!!! 6.0's and 6.4's are good motors its just a case of 1 bad story overshadows 10 good ones - I would wait before buying a 6.7 just in case there are any first year bugs. V10's are a good motor, just are a pig on fuel especially when towing.

:SDD bighead1976. Don't under estimate either engine! They are both good motors and will continue to be good, if maintained properly.

If you plan on towing, I'd go for the 7.3. My dad has a V10 and when he pulls a 20' box trailer he gets 6-4mpg compared to my 9+mpg when pulling it. The 7.3s are proven and don't have near as many problems when put under the same conditions.

I second that on waiting a year or two after the 6.7 comes out.

Welcome to the forum! I agree and don't worry about the bad reviews you read, count how many good ones there are. Many more than the bad I can guarantee.

Love my 6.0 and it's only went back twice for little things. I have 55,000 0n it now and it pulls my 16,800 LB fifthwheel just fine. I would look at a 05-07 if buying used in a 6.0/

the V10 is done, but a new "big inch" Triton V8 is also due out this spring, just in case you're interested.

if I had it to do all over again, I'd still go diesel.
we haul 3-5 days a week, and there is no way we could afford the fuel for a gasoline engine
