Being new to diesel engines (I love them by the way! ) I was wondering, if you start your truck before the 'wait to start' light goes out, what is the possible negative impact(s)?

In Orlando? None. :D

Up north, the truck might start and run rough or it might not start and you'll have to cycle the plugs again.

That's what I figured too. It took a few times to get into the habbit of waiting when I got mine. I just thought to myself, after I forgot the first time, about what they are there for and determined that there was no negative impact. It was kind of funny when I jumped into a gasser and took the key to run and sat there. Then I thought to myself, "What am I waiting on?"
