Does the 6 position chip with the "stock tune" setting bypass the chip altogether and allows the computer to function the way it should or is it a tune built into the chip mirroring a stock tune allowing the chip to make the computer act the way it is supposed to? Long winded, I know, but I am wanting to keep my 6 position chip for the economy tune, but I want to know if I can put the Superchips Max Tuner on with the chip in the stock position so I can have a back-to-back comparison without unplugging the chip...only waiting for reflash.
Thanks,
Jesse

I believe that it is a file on the chip not a setting to allow the PCM to be primary.

You would need to call TS to find out for sure and I'm confident it depends heavily upon whose programming is on the TS chip.

Yep, Stock tune is from the chip.. Mine is a 2k with that stupid TC unlock when
touching the brake... With the chip in stock it acts like a 2003 and the TC stays
locked now. My new sock also has more power than the PCM stock, newer truck
came that way.

It is very rare it sees stock.
