question regarding 4x4 system, f250 super duty -09

Hello!
I have a 2009 Ford f250 super duty and have a question about the 4x4.
When I engage the 4x4, is the front diff supposed to lock?

If you mean "Lock" as in Detroit Locker, making it basically a solid axle, the answer is no.
