Valentine 1 is the best... Have had really good luck in my truck with it, and in dad's BMW 540i - it comes in more handy in that.

55 would be great. The haul road that in run 130,000 miles a year on has a speed limit of 50 mph. I do kick it up to 51 mph once in a while when I am feeling like a rebel :D

I have been on them roads before and 50 is to for some...

In ca, a cop has to visually estimate speed, then they can confirm with a radar system. So technically, a radar detector here is just a waste of $$$. Sometimes if they are being lazy, they will just leave the radar on to watch the ppl with radar detectors slam the brakes. Sometimes they actually use them.

You're better off to not drive too far over the speed limit!

Im have a passport 9500xi, it has GPS reciever that lets you save known cop spots or speed traps and gives you a warning when aproaching the marked locations. It will warn you of speed cameras and redlight cameras in many cities. Detects Lasar, K, Ka, X, and POP. I also had a passport 8500x50 and that thing still works great i like the xi better with the constant updates you can get from their website. They also have a 30 trial if you get it from their website. Hope that helps. Drive Safe!

I have a V1, it's the best as far as I'm concerned, haven't gotten pulled over with it in the 4 years or so that I have had it, knock on wood....

I wouldn't go anywhere without my Escort 8500x50. I even run it on my Buell. Saves me everyday. Not that I'm a big speeder; I just tend to run a few miles over the limit sometimes.

I have a friend that has one of these.

Protection

He loves it and says they are pricey. He also said though if you get a ticket they will pay for it and the difference in insurance cost. I haven't read up on them so I don't know if this is true or not. Oh yeah, it has to be installed by one of their installers for the "warranty protection."
