I have terrible reception in my 2002. I found that it is because of my HID headlights. Weird! When I turn them on reception is crappy. Will a fm booster help?

you installed aftermarket HID's ? with the full balast and igniter ?
unless the balast and igniter are close to the antenna wire i dont
know why turning on the lights would reduce reception.

are the HID lights creating static ?

the problems w/ fm boosters is they boost EVERYTHING...including
NOISE.

No one has been behind the dash. The reception has not been that good since I first bought it. I am the original owner.

The receive circuit on stock stereos lack the hot receive circuitry that makers such as Pioneer,Clarion and a couple others are designed with. In the past I've installed FM signal amplifiers which worked well but if you have static sound issues then yes the static will be increased.

I used an Antenna Specialists model,I'll have to look for the part number.

That's strange, my aftermarket HID's have absolutley no effect on radio reception, and I feel I get good reception.

Yes, any ideas would be great. My chevy has Much better reception than my truck. The only difference in any electrical items is my DP Tuner, The pillar guages where added but I had bad reception before then.
Thanks Again for all your help.

Yes they are aftermarket. The balasts are right behind the headlights. Yeah I dont know why but it happened in my Tahoe also. Very strange.
