On edit.............I know I used red locktite but only tightened them with a standard 1/2" wrachet.

Wondered if I didn't get them torqued correctly...............???

Even if I didn't I would have thought the locktite would have held.

just looked up some torque specs and what i have is 105ft/lb for a dana axle and 80ft/lb for a ford axle....hope this helps



as for having the proper torque, it will depend how hard you were cranking them on with the 1/2" ratchet....

good point..
most auto lug nuts are 100ft/lbs..

that's pretty tight

my 92 250 did the same thing for mnths, i would retorque them and then next trip to the boat ramp they would be loose and the hub end would SLAM as i applied power to haul out.
finally pulled em all out, cleaned real good, replaced the bolts and used the thread locker to solve it

ditto on cleaning the threads really good. any oil or grease contanimation, the thread locker will not hold....
