I'm on new mission so... :) While I was picking up my diff cover (without the bolt kit) I priced out rear shoes and was asked what size. I didn't realize there were two sizes of rear brakes, 2.5" and 3". Other than the obvious of measuring them out, is there another way of telling what would be on there? What on the truck would require a half inch bigger shoe or why?

I want to order the OEM shoes again mainly because I got over 203 thousand miles on the originals.

Intesting...As always thanks for the help

I was asked the same question with my rear shoes and from what I recall they were 3 inch. At first I thought it was a difference between the 350 and the 250, but I am not sure. My truck is a 97 and that was the year they started the LD and HD trucks so the LD 250 may take the 2.5 inch shoes.

Duallies also had the larger (wider) shoes. Remember to get the "longer" shoes on the rear of each side when reassembling the brakes. Cheers!
