rear hub/axle seals

hey, anyone know what seals i need to repair a 90w leak? i dont have my book with me & when i go to order the seals there are 2 kinds...

TIMKEN Part # 9864S Seal; Rear Whl,Inner; Spicer 60, 61, 70 Ser. Axle

BCA/NATIONAL Part # 370047A More Info {Oil Bath Seal} Rear Wheel; Inner

im not sure what i need here. also anyone know if this job can be completed on my own without taking anything to the shop for pressing?

and do i need a seal driver or can i just use something lying around the garage?

just trying to forsee what i need so i dont get stranded.

dont have the answers....BUT why chance it w/ the seals...buy 'em
both and return the ones that DONT fit.

well it shouldnt be black magic or rocket science. i have a failing part and the failing part has a replacement part with a part number. i'd just like to know what that is so i can replace it, not buy every part and rebuild whatever fits in the rear end. i supose i can wait till i get home & check the book.

any insight on the process from someone who has done this?

if you are talking about an axle seal buy one from ford . others wont fit properly. learned this the hard way.

Bearings!

So... it's the bath seal that needed replaceing. no big job... however, i forgot to grease the bearrings!!! i reused the old breaings and just wiped the 90W off to inspect them. do i need to pull them off again and grease the brearings? i'll prolly need new seals if i do.

Just make sure the rear axle is full of oil and then jack each side way up in the air so that the oil runs out into the opposite hub. Let it sit for a bit with each side up in the air. Re-check the fluid level after you do this. Oil bathed bearings are not suppose to be greased, they run in oil.

well they are WELL oiled. I'll jack it up and flow that oil.
