I have a 99 F250 Superduty extended cab. Im wanting to update the speakers in the reas extended cab doors. What size speakers will fit without hacking up my door? I just want to directly bolt them in or is that not gonna happen? I know I got to splice the new speakers in which is no prob just dont want to have to do any cutting or trimming. Thanks in advance.

yeah 6x8's will fit and even some 6x9's you just need to check the dimensions...that crutchfield link should give you a good list of what will work and what wont and any good stereo shop can tellyou as well

I replaced my speakers about a year or two ago. They were starting to pop and just sound bad, 6x8 are what I put in.

I got mine from Crutchfield. They came with very good install instructions on how to get the door panels off & etc. IIRC I was thinking it was going to take better part of a day, but with the outstanding instruction sheets they included for free, I think I was done in like 90 minutes.

In fact, I think I made a post around here someplace about the project.

on edit: found that old thread: Crutchfiled speaker install thread
