Can any of you guys tell me if you can still use the door keypad to arm/disarm the alarm, or does using the keypad set off the alarm??

The key pad opens and locks the doors. It also arms and disarms the alarm at the same time. And Welcome to Super Duty Diesel, scrappy.

is there anything special to the wiring to have the keppad arm/disarm the alarm? i currently have a pursuit remote start/alarm on my f150 and the alarm goes off if i unlock the doors via the keypad, which is a pain since i use the keypad often. i get my new f350 in a couple of weeks and do not want to have the same setup when i get a remote start installed. can the viper be installed this way? is curcuit city the place to buy it? thanks

Has anyone here installed their own remote start system in their SuperDuty?
If so, are there particular problems with self-installation?

not on MINE ! basically the ford comes w/ "keyless ENTRY" the key
pad AND the factor fobs are nothing more than lock actuators...

if you go w/ ANY aftermarket alarm/remote start the key pad on the
door will NOT dis-arm the aftermarket alarm system.

and theres PLENTY o REASON not to go w/ the ford GOLD alarm, 2 way
paging, confirmation (display/beep) and RANGE are just some of the
reasons to go aftermarket.

so there are no aftermarket that will do what the ford Gold will? I am not looking for a super security system, nor do i need a display. my main concern is to have a remote start with a basic alarm and be able to disarm/unlock with the keypad. if the ford Gold is the only one for that, can anyone tell me where to get one??? thnaks

Ah but you have an AFTER MARKET alarm, Bush. I am not arguing the benefits of any alarm, just pointing out the keypad functions with the Ford alarm.
