Remove clear cote on running boards

Does anyone know a good way to remove the clear cote on factory running boards. I have a 2006 F350 King Ranch, so it has the color matched running boards with the aluminum diamond plate inset. The diamond plate coating is peeling and looks like crap. Thanks.

Will the warranty not cover this?
