replacement shock for the rear hatch

its not a superduty but i was wondering if any body here has a recomindation on a replacement shock for the rear hatch, i dont know if i just go to the parts store and get what ever or is there a up grade, what ever would make it easier for my wife to open the hatch, shes tired of my stick proping set up

its a 92 rs camaro

If you can read the lbs of lift force number on the side, you should be able to go to most chain auto parts store and get what you need. The length is easy to match up. But you need to be able to read what the lift force value is to match it up.

NAPA is a good source..
most RV stores should have them too

Get it from an auto parts store. If you recall, I used to work in a RV store. A large number of RV dealers get their stuff from the same wholesaler, Coast Distibution, as did we. I got two of the gas struts for my bed topper rear window. Neither has lasted more than 2 years. I already know those struts are crap. Can't do any worse by going to an auto parts place.

i tried the auto parts store for one i needed for our subaru. not availible aftermarket for the application. from subaru it was 60 plus dollars and came with the non removable mounting brackets. not worth more than 10 dollars.
