I have a 97 Powerstroke which I'm replacing the glow plugs. I ran into a problem. One of the glow plugs broke off in the head. I can reach the center part of the glow plug with vise grips but dosn't move. Is there any way of getting this out.

Thanks

Don't rush it when you start tugging on it. Work it around with some patience and it will come out if you soak it enough. Get in a hurry and break off what little there is left to get a hold of and you are going to be pulling the head. Good luck..

why not autolite?

Read post #1 in this thread. They swell up, go bad and then break off when you try to remove them. Other plugs will do the same sometimes but it seems that the Autolite plugs do it every-time. Guys have had less trouble with the Motorcraft plugs that say Beru on them.
