Yes that should work just fine. The key is the "Including CAN, required on all vehicles starting in 2008."

Does the scanguage II give you all the information that you need for operation and towing?

I put the scanguage 2 in my truck and i really like it. It makes it easy to compare your engine oil temp and coolant temp. The only downside is that it does not show exhaust temp. nbookie, I'm driving a 2006 f250. Yes, mine shows coolant temp. If I remember right that was a "stock" scangauge setting. My buddy got a scangauge also and his shows it too. I think he drives a 04 or 05. Here's a pic, it's on the lower right side.
