I need some advice from some of the smart guys on here.
I am looking at buying a 1997 Superduty,with the 7.3 engine.
It is showing 2 codes on the scanner-
#1-Cam position sensor
#2-Turbo pressure boost swith( i hope i got this one right)

The truck starts and drives pretty good.With these 2 codes being present,what am i looking at so far?

Is is hard,or expensive to fix these issues?

Thanks for any help.

* Maybe a weak CPS.. $30 bucks

#2-Turbo pressure boost swith( i hope i got this one right)

* Check the tubing around the turbo for being cracked, loose or disconnected. PCM/ECM could have set to a "Defuel Mode". Disconnect the Batts for 20 minutes.. Or.. if yer scanner is capable of it.. Erase the codes. See how it runs then. Yul need to R&R that Cam Sensor though, just to be sure.

Easy fixes. Not exspensive either, but that "Boost Switch"... puzzles me

Maybe some of the 94-97 era guyz will jump in.

the only "switch" that senses boost on these trucks is the MAP sensor so I'm also puzzled. Double check the code and see what number is assigned that will help us more than the description that is given by the code reader.
