SMOKE - BIG BLACK SMOKE!?!

so i see these guys around my neighborhood with thier rasied diesel's and exauhst etc.... like mine, but they make SMOKE it seems on demand. I was next to a guy yesterday at a light ...of couse we both too off at green like a bats out of hell.... i won to the next light, but he made a TON of BIG BLACK SMOKE ..... it was like CROP DUSTING! is this good....how did he do it... can I? I have a programer and exhaust and intake.... but NO smoke?

Any ideas?

It really depends on the chip/ programmer you have.

My ts performance 5x programer smokes pretty good, but when I had the mp8 it didnt smoke at all.

black smoke is wasted fuel. At $4/gal, I dont want smoke. My Edge on 80 does not smoke until I hit > 3300 rpm.

yea unless you just have money to piss away...which if you do then by all means.... you want as little smoke as possible because all it is, is raw fuel being dumped out of the tailpipe. Looks cool, but I'd have to agree that with diesel at 4+ dollars a gallon, I'd want that to burn as efficiently as possible.

Jourdan i would agree BUT to some
degree were ALL embassadors of
DIESEL...

LOUD NOISE and BIG BLACK smoke
gives ALL diesels a bad name....its
"fuel" for the fire so to speak in giving
the tree-huggers a reason to object
to "fuel guzzeling" noisey polluting "trucks"

Yeah its definatly not fun to pay a gross poluters ticket in CA.
My buddy who has a 12v dodge recived one in alpine county.

I do time to time catch my self smoking out the tailgaters

The only time I had BIG BLACK smoke was when the computer in the truck crapped out. The tec. at the dealer could not log into the system. I found out later, when I ran into him at walmart. That there was a SCT chip on the old unit and it corrupted the system. Lucky the dealer covered the unit becouse they did not catch when I got the truck.
