I have a 2001 F-250 7.3 that has sprung a pretty good leak that seems to be coming from the top of the engine. I found that the left (drivers) side of the HPOP near where the two hoses come out there is a void, kinda rectangular with the side pinched in a little like an hourglass that was full of oil. The area around it is washed clean from the leak, so I pressure washed the area best as I could get in around it and let it run a bit but found no evidence of leaks. Haven't driven it yet, was kinda waiting for all the water to dry up. It has new (3 years ago) HPOP hoses and fittings done when I did the turbo and related parts. I had fears of the dreaded dipstick mount on the side of the pan (again) but it's pretty wet up top so I'm guessing that's where it's coming from. Any ideads? Thanks.
