Went on a off-road trailride yesterday. I averaged 10 mpg pulling a 30 ft. fifth wheel with my bronco and a short box f-150 over a 450 mile trip running 70 plus mph on mainly 4 lane roads. Gross weight over 23k.:) A buddy has a 06 with the 6.0 pulling a jeep on a 16 ft. trailer. We ran together and after fueling up he used 2 gal. less than I did. He said he hasn't been happy with the mileage so far. I had my chip reprogramed and pulling the hills out of the river valleys to the floor holding 60mph in 5th gear I never saw over 1125 degrees. Is that good mileage for the conditions?

I would have to say heck yes. I get around 10-12 towing my 26 ft TT loaded for bear with either a couple of motorcycles or an ATV in the bed of the truck. I never have weighed it but its gotta be grossing close to or over 25K GCVW. The absolute best I have gotten is near 14mpg with the worse being 8 mpg.

How about 35mpg empty? I don't usually pull at 70 to 80mph and the fuel economy shows why. It's lower than average but I did keep up with the 6.0. I did manage to lay the bronco on its side on the trailride but no damage. I'll try to post a pic sometime.
