So with labor and without labor what is one looking for when it comes to replacing the stock trannies???

I would like to start saving now: with 136K I'm only 30K away from patrickc's story... Also the website above for the BTS trannies don't give prices.

I was about $3500 by the time I had it rebuit, bought a good TC ($1000), fluid ($250), deep trans pan ($150), and cooler w/fan ($225)
I should add that I did the install myself.

If you want an idea on transmission prices try atsdiesel.com

Last time I visited his shop, one of Brian's "wonder-boxes" was about $3700 installed, less if your tranny is not yet in "paperweight" status. He can ship you a tranny, but I think the price is the same.

I just had a BTS tranny installed. It was either 3800 or 3900 installed. Same price (plus) shipping if he ships it to you.
