A buddy of mine with a new 2013 F250 pointed this out to me the other day so I checked it on my 2012.

Driving around town without a load the transmission temp reading is between 192-196 degrees. On my 1999 this would have been considered borderline high for the conditions.

What are y'all seeing?

Should we be concerned?

Mine runs about the same (on the info screen), with ambient temps of 100+ T, I'm not concerned.

Anyone Else ????

I am told that this transmission has a thermostat and not to worry. Wish I had some more information on how that works.

I see the same temps as well Tbar. Scared the crap out of me at first because i was used to seeing things run about +/- 30* cooler than that. Mine will run in the 190s whether its 30* or 130* outside.

I run up the highway with a 2013 F-350 SRW from IL. today and he pulls RV's everywhere. We were running 70 to 75 most of the time and talking on the CB's. I ask him about this post and the temps being high.
He said he was showing 195 then and the highway was for the most part flat. He said it was 7 mo. old and had 60,000 on it and all is fine so far. I don't think he knows what he's talking about on MPG. He said it gets 24 like we were driving today, we run about 65 miles together, and pulling Fifth-Wheels he gets 17 to 18, I said to myself that's BS. LOL
