I just ordered some stage 1 injectors from BPD and want to get the 6 pos chip but with a stock trany Bean said it would last maybe a day or two.

Well A trany isn't in the budget right now but I want to get ideas on where the get a beefed up trany that would handle the HP and torque. Or what I can do with this one. SO I can dream.... I mean save :cowboy:

The truck has about 175,000 miles on it and not sure how the trany was taken care of before me.

Ideas?

I believe you can do a full BTS tranny for 3800 bucks. I think thats shipped too.

I was "this close" to getting one, but the guy I was going with wimped out and decided on a local rebuild. I was gonna do it just because I was there.

Its my understanding that the first thing to let go is the torque convertor. If you "beef up" before the TC breaks, you dont have to do as much internally on the tranny. If the TC lets go however, you gotta clean all the garbage out of the tranny.

Suncoast, ATS, Monsterbox, and BTS are the only trans rebuilders that I know of. Monsterbox has had both great and poor reviews. I've never heard of a poor review from a BTS, and I think he has a 1 year, unlimited HP warranty. He basically dares you to break it :D :D :D

:sweet sounds like a good dare. I am not one to drive very crazy. But Don't want to break anything if I can help it.

Do you have a link to BTS or the others?

See my sig line, I was in the same position as you are. I got a heavy built TC and a Transgo HDII Tugger kit for my E4OD. I have been reassured that for Stage I's that these mods would sufficiently handle 300+ HP.......... I'll have less than a grand in the upgrades. Undoubtedly the BTS or MB trannies are the way to go, but I, like you, wasnt in a position to part with nearly 4000 dollars, I mean thats why I drive a 10 year old truck to begin with right?

I talked to Bean about the TC and transpak as well. How long did it take you to install them? I have messed with tranys but not real comfortable with tearing into them. What does it take to install those units?

I did the valve body and accumulator mods in a short afternoon but did not tackle the TC and pump mods as I didnt have the ability to get the tranny out from under the truck and I didnt want to do the job on the ground under the truck. So for the TC/Pump mods I am going to take the rig into someone who has a lift. Next week hopefully.

Man, it sure is good NOT to see the BTS cheerleaders here :roflmao Now I'm sure it is a GREAT tranny, and so are a LOT of otheres. I rebuilt my tranny, no I mean I rebuilt it  (with Gregg Evans' help) with my hands. Bob Riley sells the MB kit and it isn't to bad. I did my deal prior to he and Gregg's deal so I was dealing with Gregg. Now I also went with the 5R110 OEM T/C, and it works MUCH better than the 4R100 OEM (which was really the original problem) however, if I did this all over again, I would get Gregg's HD T/C also.

This summer I'll be upgrading my T/C to a ProLock HD unit a local guy has for a SONG :thumbs (ordered for a custom build that fell threw, now he can't give that expensive monster away) I'll keep Ya'll updated when that happens. Side note, I can't remember right off, but I have at least 40k miles since the rebuild and ZERO problems. Shifts like a Corve err... Mustang :D

CPU, I am not a trany man by no means, the last one I did with some help, lasted 15 miles, ( later a friend of mine who was a trany man told me what caused the problem, mainly he said there is a proceedure after you install it and adding fluid a certian way or you could really mess it up)

If I knew more or had the help to rebuild it myself with someone that knows I would.
I have a OD light that comes on occasionally and flashes, and the trany goes into limp mode. No code showed, But I am looking for a good scanner to get that can find the problem. I don't believe it would require a trany rebuild, probably a sensor somewhere. But if I need a beefer trany then I might as well get it rebuilt or buy one already beefed up. :cowboy:
