Last night in Garland Northwest Hwy / Saturn someone tried to break into the Excursion. Looks like the jammed something in the keyhole and twisted till it busted the lock and the plastic around it. I had my GOD security on with my alarm also.
Good thing is the idiots still DID NOT GET IN :roflmao :tounge :guns: . Bad thing is how best to protect the truck and family.
1. ) I am calling this morning to see if I can get the plastic piece without a keyhole maybe for bothsides, how do I replace this?
2.) Disconnect the key locks altogether, is this possible without effecting the keyless entry or FOB?
3.) Order Jimmi Jammers and put them in, how hard are they to install? Does these protect the Keyhole or the plastic going around the keyhole, I have not researched them yet?

Good thing is I need to replace the lock actuator already, its been sitting in my toolbox for months, I was wanting to upgrade my speakers on CHP suggestions and hoping he will supervise and share his knowledge on the subject and install the Jimmi Jammers all at once. Guess sometimes you get lucky!!!

:hail GOD

I know the police setup theft stings using cars, but what about trucks? They are the most stolen vehicle in Texas....Maybe someone should point that out. These idiotic criminals are targeting truck and you don't catch them using cars. Heck I will even let them use my truck if the put in one of those really cool security systems that kills the motor and locks them in, till I arrive:guns:

Jimmi Jammers are easy to install. It will take you longer to remove the door panels (and they slide up, NOT out.) than to install Jammers. Figure on an hour for the whole job if you are dexterous with your hands.

'zactly what happened to me last sunday.

you can buy the door handles sep. from the tumbler (theyre both 'bout 60
each from the dealer) ive seen paint matching SETS @ dppi.

you can disconnect the key actuator from the tumbler but i wont stop
'em...theyll just pry the door handle out...even w/ jimmi jamers theyll
still TRY...f'in up the metal/door in the process.

the key pad entry is wired & independant of the key lock/tumbler.

disconnect the tumbler & you risk not being able to get in when the battery
dies.

im gonna mount "alarm" LED's in the door handles...figure MAYBE
thatll stop 'em or make 'em think twice.

jimmi jammers are easy to install...they have a tutorial on their web site.

from what i understand, the plastic door handles are part of the housing, you would have to purchase the whole shebang. what you see on the outside as well as the inside.

but i could be wrong.

Do you guys see a pattern here?? Lots of crooks in Texas...
I thought that Texas had some good laws to make crooks afraid to work in Texas. I know the reason we have so many bad guys, is the liberal judges out here in California. Crooks in Kalifornia know that they will just get their hands slapped.

sorry not right....you can buy the BLACK plastic (or painted)
door handles, seperate from the tumbler/key lock...in fact thats
the ONLY way ive found you CAN buy 'em (the handle is about 57
dollars & the key/tumbler is about 69...PLUS the tumber needs
to be "keyed"/set by the dealer or a lock smith).

its possible to disconnect the key/tumbler and not impact the
rest of the door operation...lock button, switches, remotes or
the keyless entry key pad...everything STILL works (door handles
included)

you can buy the plastic (black) door handles cheaper off the
net, but im not sure of the quality or texture "match".

it aint just texas...trucks (and cars) get nabbed here and taken to
the ship channel (where theyre crated for shippment QUICKLY) or
theyre driven 'cross the border (where titles arent required).

its getting harder (than it was) but as long as someone is willing
to look the other way or have their palm greased w/ cash itll continue.

you cant take a car truck or motorcycle 'cross the border w/out
proof of ownership anymore...unless of course some one doesnt
CHECK.

this isnt an isolated TEXAS issue...its a LARGE METRO area issue...
DC, NYC, RICHMOND, MIAMI, LA, SAN DIEGO (to name a few)...
the largest issue is the design of the door (for cheap manufacturing)
and the tv stations that are telling everyone.

my guys (had they been sober or GOOD) could have had the truck
EASILY (key was in the ashtray) they also missed the gps under the
dash & the 400 dollar radar detector on the windshield.

all they wanted was the radio...cause that was easy & they were
USED to getting those quickly.

hell they didnt even CHECK the jewely box that was in the door pocket
(had just given my wife her valentines day saphire & diamond pendant
neckless)

at least in texas if you commit murder and we tell you your getting the
death sentance we mean it...and we dont mess around...appeal all you
want but its more likely than not that TEXAS will lethal inject 'em inside
of 10yrs (at the most)

I can certainly help with the installation of the Jimmi Jammers and upgraded speakers, get em in and we'll set date/time to knock em out:cool:
