geonc
my other 4X4
I'm in the middle of re-building my turbo-stock Garret TP38.
Have it 99 percent done except for ...and this may just be in my mind
but at the hot side where the turbine wheel backs up to the center section appears to be another section that should come off?
FYI- when I removed the shaft , the bushings look no different than the new ones
and the only evidence of oil found was a small amout carbonized on the housing in question....the source---I believe---of my oil consumption.
Am I crazy or just looking for something that isn't there?
do I just lube up the turbine piston ring and send it home and assemble the turbo?
see pics for 2 mystery seals
I already have a square cut seal for the center section to compressor side and the one in the pic is smaller in dia but thicker in cross section......
Oh yea....pic of new pre-turbo pyro location
Got all hardware loaded with never sieze....just need to get this stinkin' turbo on to snug it all up and stuff that engine back in
