Turbo failures due to aftermarket exhaust

-mad Ford is blaming my ongoing turbo failure's on my MBRP Cool Duals. I tried to start the DSB thru my dealer. When the dealer talked to Ford, and told them about my truck going thru 4 turbo's, the first thing the "Powerstroke Engineer" asked him was if I had an aftermarket exhaust.:eek: :cussing: I calmly told the friendly dealer person that I had the first 2, of 4, turbo's go bad when the truck was bone stock! So, I'll keep you all posted as to what happens.

What kind of air filter are you using? I had a turbo replaced which wasn't a huge surprise to me, the guy before hand beat the heck out of it with a chip and I belive it sat around at the dealers for a few months rusting away inside. If you let it sit alot they will rust up. My dealer told me if K&N air filters are used they let enough dirt through to "dust" the fins and actually make them wear down over time and of course, void your warrentee.

Stock air filter and intake. In fact, I still have the original air filter element in my truck. The only mods are the exhaust and coolant filter. I think my main problem is I don't drive it enough. Who's the moron that designed the turbo with a cast impellar? Why couldn't it be stainless? Freakin' bean counters!

Excuse the he77 out of me for getting the flu.

Weather here in western PA is the pits sometimes and
I didn't feel well enough to drive da beast for about a month.

Now I can only huff 20 psi -> used to be high 20's
Blame being put on VVT and vane rust.

Mo Rons and their cast iron impellors.

I own five turbo Subarus all at 150 kmi or more, all sit,
all spool like crazy even after sitting for 6 months.

110,000 on the original Turbo, It has been off due to it having intermet boosting issue turn out there as some rust after it sat for 3 months while I was deployed but that was over 20,000 miles ago. Love my truck ;tu

Federal law prohibits a dealer from voiding your factory warranty just because you're using aftermarket equipment. Theres two exceptions. If the aftermarket part cause damage Or adversely affects the emission system.

Now the rust is a problem, there is some stuff that you put in your overflow tank and it changes color if it picks up combustion gases. I think you need to look into it. It's sounding like you may have a head gasket problem coming up.

youd drain your bank account fighting the dealer & ford just
TRYING to get them to PROVE <to you> what caused the failure.

the Magnuson-Moss Act is a joke...it makes consumers FEEL
good but it doesnt actually DO anything to HELP...if anything
its a FINGER for the aftermarket parts mfg's to WAG at us owners
and the dealers.

NOT ONCE have i EVER heard of or SEEN <documented> an aftermarkets
parts manufacture come to the AIDE of a buyer or owner in a warranty
fight w/ a dealer much less a manufacture <the size of FORD> !

as for determining if you have blow head gaskets, youll need to
go to ANOTHER dealer or buy THIS --> COMBUSTION LEAK TEST KIT,
its fairly inexpensive @ $38.95 (retail)
