GM is even worst, I didn't have a Dura Max, it's been a few years sense a GM was in my driveway. GM wouldn't even honor their warranty on a Stock truck, in my case!! You had best get used to the fact they (MFGs) are going to get even tougher on warrantees vs. Performance Modifications!! Better yet, do like I do and wait until the Warranty expires to modify it, that way you will no for a fact, who, is responsible for any damage to your Vehicles.

There is a law on the books I think it is called the federal-mergison act. Basicly it states that if a dealer does not want to honor a warrenty thay have to prove the aftermarket part caused the problem. That way thay cant say something like "you did not use our windsheild washer fluid and that is why your fuel pump went bad". Any aftermarket company should be able to provide you with a copy. Anybody with a this probem should get a copy and take it to the dealer and see what thay say then. At worst take it to your lawyer. I hope this helps some people.
That law will only protect you for stock replacement parts. Not Modified Performance parts!! Like Larger Exhaust with no cat or Muffler.

I had three turbos replaced on my 05 X in the first 6k miles. My X was completely stock.
I only drove my X about once every two to three weeks and the variable vanes were rusting and were stuck.
Tech told me I needed to drive the truck once a week and get on it so it will blow the crap out.
I am now at 16k miles, drive it at least once a week and have had no problems.
Do you let yours sit for a long period of time?

Its the Magnuson-Moss Act. It is a federal consumer protection law.

to the OP- not idling is only part of keeping a VGT happy. you also have to regularly 'exercise' the actuators and vanes. The Italian tune up if you will. so get that thing on boost regularly to keep it clean. you also have to drive the turbo right. you can't just floor the thing- you should ease into the boost.
did they say that all 3 previous turbos were coked up? coincidence or probability of it happening 4 times in a row would lead me to look for other causes or trouble. you can;t coke up without some oil in the exhaust steam too. are you consuming oil?

I have 32K+ miles on my 04, and never had the turbo replaced. The solenoid for the VGT was replaced. I drive the truck about once a week or so. When I drive it I ease in to the loud pedal sometimes, and sometimes I hammer it. I also drive it like I stole it. Keith

Reminds me of the issues we had with some of our freightliner detroits.
It just goes to show any dealership will try to throw parts at it.

Hello all
I would suggest for the money and piece of mind to implement following
-Coolant Filtration kit from Dieselsite.com
-Flush entire system / remove engine plugs / flush with distilled water / drain remove ALL of the factory coolant
-Dispose of properly
-Then install Evans NPG + coolant ( Waterless ) from Dieselsite.com
-Evans web link = Evans Cooling Systems, Inc. High Performance Engine Cooling and Power Production.
-Would also suggest Turbo Saver ( Plug & Play no splicing of wiring harness --- keeping every thing factory ) from DieselSite - Auto cools Turbo and auto turns off vehicle with Key removed / Doors locked etc to be certain the Turbo has cooled down before turning off

I have to agree with previous posts losing that many Turbos something bad is going on ---
Plus agree to go to a different Dealer -- I compare this to when a Doctor informs you that you have XYZ --- OK but the very next step should be to go and get at least Three to four other Doctors viewpoint + see a specialist in the field of your illness --- never trust just one Doctor or mechanic in this case
