Yesterday I was pulling my toy hauler (w/a harley in back for a total of about 8000 lbs) up Pacheco Pass from Gilroy to Los Banos, Ca. About 3/4 of the way up the pass I heard a loud noise under the hood and lost all power. A check showed the intake cat tube had popped off. I put it back on and it popped up again immediately while under load. No error lights came on. Local dealer said the turbo checked out ok and there were no error codes, that the tube just sometimes comes off under boost. Are they blowing smoke up me or what?

They NEED to be cleaned very carefully before being put back on. This is an old problem that has not surfaced much lately.

A friend of mine recently purchased an 04 F 250 and has had the same thing happen both times he has towed his trailer. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

Chuck

Do the CCV mod. That way it's no longer filling the induction system with oil. Notice how your CAC boots are saturated with oil? It's all from the CCV.
