turbo upgrade on a budget...

what do you guys think about just getting a larger exhaust housing and a wicked wheel (or similar)?

i've got a couple options for the exh. housing

ATS

Pure diesel power

discount power parts

also, the motor has 150k with an original turbo (i think), should i just get a whole new upgraded turbo.

have you checked the shaft play on your current turbo? i would say that should be the deciding factor.

I would go with the ATS housing, a wicked wheel. I have a wicked wheel with the stock housing and it seems to help alot. I have no more compressor surge, a little bit quicker spool up, and about a 50* drop in egts.

Turbine shaft end play is. 0.001-0.004

You can rebuild the stocker and add a 1.00 exhaust housing and WW... this will net you lower EGT's and no surge. The ATS housing will cure surge, but nothing else.
