twin tail pipes

i am thinking about splitting my single 4" exhaust pipe into dual 3" tail pipes out each rear corner.anybody done this?can it hurt anything? my 4" is rubbing on my spare tire and is hot enough to start to melt the rubber.

Mine is 4" split in front of the spare - sounds great! you wont be disapointed!

 

[early 99 stroker]

loosen the spare and push it to the driver side tail light and re tighten..I'm running 5" exhaust and have a couple inches between the tire and tail pipe.
