I just picked up a sc 1705 cheap and am going to add guages. A pyrometer for sure, a boost guage-probably, a coolant temp-maybee. I have a 5-speed so I dont think I need a trans guage. Can a coolant temp guage be hooked up and the stock guage still work? I dont think I will like the factory guage acting dead. Any ideas?

yes there is a blank port on the waterpump where you can attach the new water temp sensor and still have a functioning dash gauge.

I plumbed mine in for my WVO conversion to a brass tee in the heater hose (That's what feeds the oil heaters in the system)

It is nice to have, you can tell a LOT more than the dash guage.

Yul be glad you hooked up a [Real] Gauge Zero.

I can see the temps rise a few degrees, towing Up a grade.. then Fall off a few drifting Down a grade, on the [Real] gauge. The Idiot gauge NEVER moves...... NEVER.
