Using Low Sulfur Diesel in the 6.4

I am considering purchasing the new 08 PSD, but this summer I have a vacation planned to Mexico. As far as my research has gone I have found that there may not be ULSD where I plan on visiting, does anyone know if there is a problem with using LSD in the 6.4 intended for ULSD?
I have asked the sales and mechanics at my local dealer, and they are clueless for a solid answer.

The smog stuff won't like it much if you use more than a tank or two, sez my local dealership diesel wrench turner.

Supposedly the smog crap will not work properly, and then your sensors will tell the motor hell is freezing over and the motor will eventually shut down.
