Carquest makes a super nice repair kit for that problem. I can get you a part number for it if you would like. Its expensive. The kit cost me 500.00 but it will repair about 20 damaged holes. I own 5 5.4 engines so it has come in handy. I fixed 4 holes in 1 engine. And no I wouldnt drive it that far. The towing bill will be less than a new engine.

Well it made the trip just fine, pulled in here sounding like a 2 cycle JD :lmao
Funny thing is it got a bit better fuel mileage running on 9 :D

all fixed up

Got it all fixed up this afternoon for pa, it was the cylinder #1 :tounge

Carquest/ Helicoil has a kit with a special tap/ reamer and 3 length inserts, all worked pretty good, just blew air in the tailpipe with exh valve open to blow out the chips
