Welll, got some new vacuum hose to replace the old stuff today and will let you guys know how it turns out. I found that by putting the truck in 4WD (sometimes it takes about 30 seconds to engage while sitting there) that the A/C vents start working after that (you can hear the vacuum pull the vent flap inside and the vents start working). Then I can turn 4WD off and it's fine.....?

I had the same problem in my truck. I had to do balljoints and while I was in I replaced the vacuum o-ring as well as the oil/vacuum seal behind the hub assembly. It's a Ford only item that costs about $40. Replaced my vacuum hoses to no avail, it was either the o-rings or that seal that fixed it.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll go by Ford next week and do that. I might as well do my ball joints while I'm there too since I occasionally get a clunk up front.... not often enough to care but if it's apart I like to do everything the first time and be done with it all.

Oh yea, hoses replaced and no improvement... ahhh it was only 4 or 5 bucks ;)
