The vent setting knob on the truck stopped working, it will only send air out the defroster, all the temp and fan speed ditches work but I cannot change the position of the air settings, it will blow ac and heat out but will not go to any other setting, knob turns but won't change the air from the defroster vents.....where do I start Gentleman?? Classic case of vacuum leak. Vacuum controls most of the heater/AC functions. Look for the obvious like a disconnected vacuum line under the dash and hood. ESOF (Electronic Shift On the Fly) or automatic four wheel drive usually is the cause. Look for the vacuum hoses going to the wheel hubs. Keep after it and you will find it.

Now that you mention it the lines that go to the hubs are looking a bit ragged, I'll replace those tonight, then start lookin around for bad lines in thecab and under the hood, thanks for the replies,,,,,
