The flathead was in an old sprint/Indy car and popped and banged like I remembered when I was a kid in the 50's. My favorite is the injected Hemi, a REAL Hemi not one of these new kind!
I had a 1950 F-5 that had a flathead in it... 10-4 on the popping and banging... I dinked around with that engine for about a year before I broomed it... only to find out from my Dad there wasn't anything wrong with it...
still kick myself over that.
