Bang, Thats all I herd going down the highway @ about 55 mph. I have not posted in a while. I been in a deep depression.
Truck was gone for about two weeks at the shop. Front u-joint on the rear shaft lost a retainer clip. It twisted the transfercase up off its mounts and gouged the output shaft on the tranny and bent up the drive shaft.
I do not understand how it coud fall out, seems impossible. But thats what they said. Thats also what it looked like.
(I went to the one piece driveshaft to get rid of a vibration deleating the carrier barring. Tried just shimming the carrier bearing with every possible combination of shims with no luck)
4000.00- later(new tranny), shes back in the drive way. The area above the front u-joint of the rear shaft was splattering grease all over the bottom of the truck. I then cleaned the area and now it is not so Im hoping it was just some excess.
What does it mean if A u-joint slatters grease and it is not just excess?
Well Im still sick over the whole thing but im glad I have my truck back!
