What happened to 1998?

Ok this may be a dumb question but,i've wondered this for a while, not much is ever said about the 1998 PSD, why not?
Even in the forums they go 94-97 and 99+
So where do they 98's fit in?

As far as I know, in '98 all that was offered was a PSD in an E-350 van. Then in '99 the Super Duties came out with the second generation 7.3L Powerstroke.

The 98 model year got skipped completely. That was the switch over year from the old body style to the new "Super Duty" year, Ford had intended to roll out the 98's but as things are, there were too many foul ups and they didnt have the 98's ready in Oct of 97 and werent ready for the market until mid 98 at which time they were badged as 99's . The early 99's have ALOT of 97 parts under the hood.

we were that close to removing a tur d from the world and the big C in DC turned us around


so we came home with lots of tax free dollars looking for a new truck

My truck is one of the extra 97's, so I guess you could say it would be a 98 if they had badged it as such.

Yeah I heard 98 was basically a rerun of 97 or something.
