Good day everyone. Just picked up a new to me 2020 F250 Super Duty. I’ve looked in the owners manual with no success to what this is for? Is there something that is supposed to fit in the socket?

Think it to be a rather small coin holder

That is a coin holder. I know… ridiculous.

It is also the place a factory brake controller would be installed for towing trailers that have electric brakes.

Agreed. That location is where an OEM brake controller would go…. IF YOU COULD GET ONE. Right now, they’re unavailable.
Unavailable due to some issue with the plug on the back, I’m told.

I’ve been waiting for nearly two months to get one installed on a new-to-me used F450. I got a great deal on this beast.

I’m also told the OEM brake controllers should be available in the ford supply chain by October 1st.

I’m not holding my breath.

I want to go camping and cannot without the brakes on the 5th wheel not working.
