Attached is a pic. What size are my wheels? Bolt pattern? They look fairly narrow in person. Tires on there are 285/75/16.

Reason I ask is that I need tires. I want to run the biggest (tallest & widest) tire possible. I can get different wheels if I HAVE to ...... but I definitely can't hang a lift kit right now. So what's the largest tire I can put on these wheels? And, if I get different wheels ..... what's the largest I can run on this stance without having clearance problems?

you have a 8 on 170 mm pattern and a 16x8 size wheel.

You can run 315/75r16 on them which is the equivalent of a 35x12.50 or a set of 305/70r16 for the equivalent of a 33x12.50. Some guys will tell you that a 8" wheel is too narrow for that wide of tire but I have been doing it for years without a problem. I just run the air pressure a little low to keep the tread wear even.

8x170mm 16x7 I beleive may be 16x8. I've run 305's on my 2wd without major issues. I'm running 285's now with no issues. I think if you go 315 you'll wear the centers out. Least thats what I was told by neighbor who was told that at the tire shop.

I just run the pressure a little low(40psi)to even out the tread wear. I would not recommend this procedure for heavy hauling though but it does help the ride a bunch.
