So, how loud are they, and how long of a blast can you do??

Those will be on order this week. Need to get myself something for Christmas!

They are as loud as any diesel Big Rig horns. I have never held the button down long enough to frain the tank, so I don't know. My neighbors would not like that. I will try when I can get free.

So the dumb driver with the cell phone in thier ear driving 35 mph in the left lane will definatley hear you!

Nathan's sound the best when the air is around 90 - 125 psi. Volume is the big thing with any Nathan or Leslie horns. A locomotive won't have a problem with that. :D

Is it right to say, though, that for short signalling bursts (i.e. "hey knucklehead, stop backing up" warnings) a 3-5 gallon tank would be sufficient?

You will get more than a few seconds, like maybe 15 to 20 seconds. I have not tried it, but it seems reasonable.

Thats enough to make the knucklehead change his shorts.:D
3 to 5 gallon tank will work fine, but bigger is better.
