Where is the fix for dim overhead console?

I've seen online where guys can do something to the overhead console and make the display not be dim when the park lights or head lights are on. I know adjusting the thumb wheel makes it dim/bright, but mine is still dim on the full bright setting. Does anyone know what the fix is for rigging the overhead to stay full bright when the headlights are on and off? Thanks for any input.

my nephew had the same problem and found an online a fix that involves taking the unit apart and resoldering a computer chip back in he did this said it was easy and everything works ok i am going to try it this weekend
