lots of options...depends on if you want GOOD sound or
something that looks factory ;)

if you can mount 'em on the a-pillar and bounce the sound
off the windshield thats probably best...another option is
the plastic (black) mirror bolt covers on the front doors...

otherwise your looking at mounting 'em in the doors... (front
and rear...something like ive done).

if i had to do it over id have tried to work my front tweeters into
the black plastic that covers the mirror bolts...

you can also mount 'em in the rear most plastic high in the corners
(i also have a pair there)...so yeah i have 3 pair of 6.5" seps in
my truck.

In a van down by the river...

That's where I mounted mine and they sound NICE (Boston Acoustics Pro). Having the tweeters mounted there moves the center of the soundstage up so it doesn't seem like the sound is centered on the tranny hump and, IMO, that's a good thing.

For tweeter mounting - in order to achieve proper sound stage, i have found that you need to mount them at just below ear level in the truck and pointed directly at you/passenger.

Mine are mounted on the plastic that covers the mirror bolts on the door.

'nother GREAT option (but hard to blend/conceal) are in the
A-Pillars pointing toward the passenger and driver (across
the truck) or firing into the windshield (for reflection back into
the cabin area)

when i get some for my crew cab i was gonna put them where the seat belts for the front seat are mounted between the 2 doors.i was gonna remove the seatbelts and remove the plastic trim.then i was gonna try to neatly cut some nice slits in the plastic trim at the top of it above the seatbelts.then epoxy the tweter to the trim behind the slits.and if needed i was gonna cut a hole in the center pillar for them to sit in so that when its all done it looks factory and cant be seen.

for a REALLY CLEAN, invisable install pull 'em apart and paint 'em to
match the trim.

I keep saying im gonna pull mine apart and paint 'em so they
blend in better w/ the door panel and the rear corner.

as an opinion...i think mounting 'em at the front seat belt locations
will put the image behind you....and if you ever add REAR speakers
i think it will be even more noticable that the sound is coming from
behind rather.

i think if you put a pair up front and then a pair in the rear youll
have a more NEUTRAL image/presence.

im running THREE pair of 2 way separates (front doors, rear doors
and rear factory corner)...when i added the 3rd pair (many months
after i had 'em in all the doors) in the far rear (factory location)
and mounted the tweets HIGH in the rear corner it REALLY REALLY
opened things up...much better balanced sound & presence.

& from the world of over kill...ive still got the itch to add a 4th
pair by using the q-forms kick panel mountings.

Another option i have done in the past is to epoxy the tweet down in the AC vents. Drill a small home in the plastic in order to run a small signal wire.

Have to keep the vents open though in order to hear em...
