To Each, His/Her Own on this I think, but: I cut a slit (with a utility knife) thru the boot where the Steering column goes thru. Ran it, and all the wires thru, made double 6" loops (for any future needs), then to the gauges. Bundled everything with wire ties. Done Deal.

use an ice pick or awl...punch a hole in the rubber grommet/covers
up under the drivers side dash.

I did the same thing but I used a large drill bit and drill to make the hole round so it didnt spread over time.

you can ALWAYS cover both sides of the hole w/
silicon sealer....even a small hole, just to keep any
potential breeze or water out.

Yep, What BP sez.

To take it to anuther level ? I said Slit. What shoulda said was: An "+", then poked the wire thru, pulled'm back a tad so the "+" ears are on the engine side.. then silicone'd'm.

another thing id suggest...if you have REALLY BIG wires to
run (like say 0/1 ga)....you CAN drill a hole (old skool)...

be CERTAIN to file the edges front rear & inside so they dont
chafe...you can even use some wire loom or rubber hose to
insulate the wire thru the firewall, etc. then seal the hole
well w/ silicon.

I havent had to do that in years though....

Or.... IF you want to Drill holes, you can drill the hole to size, for a slip in, rubber grommet. (what I did when installing the Heater Core by-pass Vac line on the Pass side) you can find'm in the "Help" (Brand name) section at Auto Zone, type stores.

Kinda wish I'd dun that instead of the "+" thing. But:dunno , did'nt know about'm at the time.
