Hey guys. I'm new to the site. Been turning wrenchs on big trucks but not on my personal small/pu truck.
My 6.0 has 74k and has had nothing but maintenance done to it.
The other day I noticed a lot of white/blue smoke at deceleration and at stop. I think the seals are coming apart in the turbo. No loss in power "YET".
Is the turbo on these an easy rebuild or should I replace the whole thing?

I'm not real hot on 6.0's..

I'd give you a couple things to check..
Integrity of the EGR cooler..
and look inside the boots & tubes for oil..

The turbos on this motor don't go out, in general. You had better look the EGR cooler as JL said. I have over 140,000 miles on my stock motor and no rebuild to anything. Only a few electrical items; FICM and a few injectors.

Mine did have white/blue smoke when my egr cooler failed and eventually I noticed the loss of coolant after an overheat. Check your degas bottle I'm betting it's near empty.
