does anybody know the % of the rear windows on the crew cabs. want to get the fronts done to match. asked the dealer actually when i got it and they had no clue. went to a window tint place that said it was illegal:rolleyes: . i know it is not illegal just can't be over a certain percentage (state specific)

the tint shop i went to told me the back tint is a stock 20 percent from the factory. and yes it is illegal in some states but you can sign a waver saying you know full well that its illegal and they will do it i have tinted all my trucks and cars only been oulled over once for the windows but on a ten dollar fix it ticket. and if you know a cop dont even worry just get it signed off.

internationalpower-
correct but from what i've been told the signature is only done by places who want to break the law, make you sign a waiver stating the %age is over 'legal'

sprintracer26-

Out here in Caly... You need to check with the State, County, City, part of the City and street you live on, for Tint regs.

We just had a Motor Officer shot 3 times by a Dirtbag in a "Blacked Out" Honda.... At night. I exspect some changes to Tint % to come from that. (Rightly So)

Out here they enforce it by a CVC "Decal" rule/reg that has to do with Obstructed Vision.

Check your local laws.

im thinking about tinting my fronts too... 20% you say?
Windshield--- No tint is allowed on the windshield :( .
Front Side Windows--- No tint can be applied legally to this window :( .
Back Side Windows--- Any darkness can be used :sweet .
Rear Window--- Any darkness can be used :sweet .

Of course Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.

I used to reside in NJ and am quite familiar with the window film rules.
